Watch this space!!

Hi Everybody

I checked today and found that it has been a good SIX weeks since I wrote the last newsletter, so watch this space - one will be coming next week.

Tomorrow we are off to the big trade show - where we find out about all the new stuff that is coming our way.

I know that Nicky and Cate have been sitting together fawning over all the taster pictures that have been coming out from the suppliers.  I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to cost me a pretty penny!!

They were mumbling words like 'kaisercraft' and 'echo park' and 'prima' and 'sew-easy', not to mention die-cuts and embossing folders, stamps, decopage, inks...............too much to think about.  I wil need a well stiff drink tomorrow night!!

Then, of course, there is Ruth - her love of beads and wool is sure to get us into trouble tomorrow.

Ho hum, I had better get off to bed and prepare myself for a loonnnggg day!!

I will let you all know how things go.

Speak soon.

The gorgeous paper used for the floral screen is by Prima and is from the Paintables collection.

Early Closure Today, Friday 10th February

Hi Everybody

I hope you are all enjoying the snow!!!!

This is just a very quick message to say that, due to electrical work being carried out by the SEB, the shops will be closed from 12 noon today.

Those of you that have been up to the shop recently, will know that part of the Long Barn is being renovated.  As part of this work the electricity supply is being upgraded.  Yippee!  Hopefully, no more power loss.

I am assured that the work will be completed this afternoon, so it will be business as usual tomorrow.

Remember that it is the Jo Sonja's Home Decorating class tomorrow afternoon.

See you all then.

Card using distress inks by Tim Holtz

At a recent cardmaking workshop held by Nicky Hayden, she demonstrated how to have fun making your own paper designs with Tim Holtz distress inks.

The strip of paper down the right hand side of the card was made using the distress inks and so was the paper for the butterflies which coordinates beautifully with the background papers.

A peel off was adhered onto the handmade paper design and then cut out.  The smaller butterflies were punched out of the paper using the distress inks and layered onto the card to give dimension.

If you would like to learn more about cardmaking, crafting, knitting and jewellery making please take a look at our workshop brochure and come along to one of our workshops.

Love album

Nicky (Hayden) recently held a workshop on how to make this adorable 'Love Album' using papers from the First Edition paper pad called 'New Leaf'.

She has used a Bind It All to bind all the pages of the album together.  Wires and album covers are available in the shop.

The wooden heart has been stamped and inked around the edges with the addition of
paper flowers, buttons and lace to give dimension to the cover.
Lots of wooden items can be found at our on-line shop here.

Nicky has used an assortment of Kraft card and index cards to complete the album.

Please take a few moments to check out our updated on-line shop The Mulberry Bush and let us know what you think of it's makeover!
